How Do I Measure Product Density?

Measuring your product density can seem like a daunting task when faced with phrases such as ‘grams per cubic centimetre’ or when confronted by equations like ‘p = m/v’. And let’s face it, who really has the time to try and work that out when you’re running a business? You are entrepreneurs, not physics professors!

Thankfully it’s not nearly as hard, nor as time consuming, as the internet would have you believe. We think Michael explains it best in our video but we break it down for you here, too.

You simply need one hundred grams of your product, a measuring jug and a set of scales. You first put your empty measuring jug on to your scales and reset the weight so that the display reads zero. Next, pour 100 grams of your product into the measuring jug (it’s ok to be under/over by a couple of grams) and give it a shake to level it off as best you can. Finally, check to see how many millilitres of the jug has been filled by your product.

Voila! You have your answer, and we can take it from there.
